Westbound’s business model has met with a great deal of enthusiasm but requires a world-class CTO to reach its full potential.

Westbound has recently aligned with a strategic investor focused on Business to Business (B2B) E-Commerce. To date, Westbound’s Internet efforts have focused primarily on web enabling existing products, "proof of concept" projects and some Palm integration. To successfully make the transition to a B2B powerhouse, Westbound needs someone at the top of the org. chart with a deep knowledge of the technical issues surrounding B2B e-commerce. Westbound is investing heavily in recruiting and training initiatives to develop expertise in its Core Technologies: XML, JAVA and C++.

Westbound is seeking a CTO with the knowledge and experience to provide the technology foundation for current operations and future growth. This individual must have knowledge, experience, passion and a sense of humor. For the right candidate, Westbound is ready to "make an offer you can’t refuse." Some specific responsibilities include:

• • Developing and maintaining a corporate technology plan

• • Overseeing the hiring, training and career development of technical personnel
  • Providing technology recommendations for clients
  • Assisting with internal technology evaluation and selection
  • Establishing a technology budget
  • Reviewing recommendations for web-site architecture
  • Making infrastructure decisions
  • Managing Westbound’s technical architects
  • Managing design & architecture process in the US
